How to Re-Install Operating System on a PRAHOST Dedicated Server
⚠️ IMPORTANT WARNING
Re-installing the Operating System will permanently erase all data on your dedicated server. Proceed only if you have taken a full backup.
1. Login to Your PRAHOST Client Area

- Login to your PRAHOST Client Area
- Click Services → My Services
- You will see your services list
2. Select Active Dedicated Server

- Locate the server with Active status
- Click the server row to manage it
3. Open Reinstall Option

- From left sidebar under Actions, click Reinstall
- OR click the Reinstall button at the bottom
4. Re-Install Operating System
Warning! All your data will be erased and your server’s operating system will be reinstalled.

OS Installation Form
- Hostname (Required) – must be valid (example: server.yourdomain.com)
- Timezone – select your local timezone
- SSH Keys – optional (Linux only)
- Operating System – select from dropdown
- RAID & Partition – keep default
Start OS Reinstallation
Click Re-Install OS
Installation will start immediately
You may now navigate back to the Dashboard
⏳ Installation Process – Important Notes
Installation Time: 25–45 minutes
🚫 Do NOT:
- Reboot the server manually
- Interrupt the process
- Enter Rescue Mode
✅ Good to know:
Installation runs fully automated by PRAHOSTServer will reboot automatically after completion
Retrieve Your New OS Password
After 25–45 minutes, once the OS installation is complete, retrieve your new root password.
5. Retrieve New Root Password, View Updated Server Credentials
Follow Steps 1 & 2 again to reach the Manage Product page.
A. Open Credentials
Click the Credentials button at the bottom OR
From the left Actions menu, click Credentials

- Go to Actions → Credentials
- Copy your new root password
Note: If the password is not updated, the installation may still be in progress.
